The unorthodox materials I use in my work include Evian and Nivea moisturising cream. Both products are colourless, both are absorbed into the body and both have brand names that share an anagrammatic link. Here, 'Evian' is a vessel, the content of which, has been taken into the body, flushed out and then distilled to remove the impurities. Placed back in the bottle, the left-over substance has been depleted of its careful balance of minerals and no longer has any corresponding link to the list of ingredients on the vessel's label. Positioned on a wall not quite inside, yet not outside, the gallery space - the work's status hangs in the balance.
